Artist Biography
Originally trained as a graphic designer—then
known as commercial art—Robert built a
successful career creating logos, marketing
campaigns, packaging, and illustrations for
books and national and international clients
including 3M, Easton, Browning, and Huntsman
Chemical.
As his illustration work grew, he shifted toward fine
art. He sees little divide between design and fine art,
noting both aim to capture attention, tell a story, and
create emotional connection. His work reflects
firsthand experience, immersing viewers in a place
through light, atmosphere, and detail.
Robert enjoys commissioned work for its challenge
and opportunity to explore new subjects. He works
across a wide range of media, including sculpture
chalk, watercolor, acrylic, oils, and digital formats.
His subjects span wildlife, Western themes, landscapes,
and portraiture. Driven by storytelling, his process
begins with an idea, evolving through sketches into a
finished piece shaped by both intention and discovery.
